How it is used
- The starting point - 新的起点 (xīn de qǐdiǎn) a new starting point.
- The spatial or figurative point where something begins: a race start, a career's beginning; opposite 终点 (zhōngdiǎn, finish/end point) - 到达终点 (dàodá zhōngdiǎn) reach the finish line.
- Contrast 起初 (qǐchū, at first in time); 起点 is a point, often used motivationally.
