- To unify / unified / standardized - 统一标准 (tǒngyī biāozhǔn) unified standards; 国家统一 national unification.
- Both verb and adjective. Political (统一祖国) and practical (统一意见 reach consensus, 统一管理 uniform management). Opposite: 分裂 (fēnliè, to split). Also a food-brand name - 分裂国家 (fēnliè guójiā) split the country.
