- Rare, or to prize/care for something as rare - 这东西现在很稀罕 (zhè dōngxi xiànzài hěn xīhan) this thing is quite a rarity now.
- Colloquial, often negated to express disdain: 谁稀罕你的东西！ (shéi xīhan nǐ de dōngxi!) as if anyone wants your stuff! Note 罕 is unstressed here.
