How it is used
- Hale and hearty, of an older person's health - 爷爷八十了，身体还很硬朗 (yéye bāshí le, shēntǐ hái hěn yìnglang) Grandpa is eighty and still robust.
- Colloquial and warm, used almost exclusively to praise the vigor of the elderly. Note 朗 is unstressed (yìnglang).
