How it is used
- A text message / SMS - 发短信 (fā duǎnxìn) send a text; 收到一条短信 (shōudào yì tiáo duǎnxìn) got a text.
- Measure word 条 (tiáo). Distinct from 信息 (xìnxī, information/message broadly) and 微信消息 (WeChat message): 短信 specifically means the carrier SMS.
