How it is used
- To land / make landfall / hit the market - 台风登陆 (táifēng dēnglù) the typhoon made landfall; 产品登陆中国市场 (a product entering the China market).
- Original military/geographic 'go ashore', now widely figurative for arriving somewhere (a market, a platform).
- Note: for 'log in', the correct word is 登录 (dēnglù); 登陆 is a very common but technically wrong substitute - keep them apart.
