How it is used
- To take notice of / respond to someone - 她理都不理睬我 (tā lǐ dōu bù lǐcǎi wǒ) she won't even acknowledge me.
- Nearly always negated (不理睬 / 没人理睬) to mean 'ignore, give the cold shoulder'.
- Near-synonym of 理会 (lǐhuì) and 搭理 (dāli); all mean deigning to react to a person, and all usually appear in the negative.
