How it is used
- To pay attention to / take notice of - almost always negated: 别理会他 (bié lǐhuì tā) don't pay him any mind.
- Overwhelmingly used in the negative (不理会, 没人理会) to mean 'ignore'; positive use is rare.
- Similar to 理睬 (lǐcǎi) and plain 理 (lǐ, to heed); all cluster around 'to acknowledge / respond to someone'.
