How it is used
- Commodity prices / the price level - 物价上涨 (wùjià shàngzhǎng) prices rising, 物价稳定 stable prices.
- 物价 is the general price level of goods (macroeconomic); 价格 (jiàgé) is the price of a specific item.
- 物价 collocates with 上涨/下跌/水平; you'd say 这个东西的价格, not 物价, for one item.
- 物价高 (wùjià gāo) = the cost of living is high.
