How it is used
- One-sided/partial/biased - 片面的看法 (piànmiàn de kànfǎ) a one-sided view, 片面追求 (piànmiàn zhuīqiú) one-sidedly pursue (at the expense of other things).
- Negative: seeing only one aspect and missing the whole picture; 片 (a piece) + 面 (side).
- Contrast 全面 (quánmiàn, comprehensive/all-round); the 片面/全面 pair is a standard contrast.
