How it is used
- To consume (spend on goods/services) - 消费水平 (xiāofèi shuǐpíng) consumption level, 刺激消费 to stimulate spending.
- 消费 is economic consumption/spending money; 消耗 (xiāohào) is using up/depleting a resource.
- 消费 in the sense of a customer spending; 高消费 (gāo xiāofèi) = high-end/pricey spending.
- 理性消费 (lǐxìng xiāofèi) = rational/sensible spending.
