How it is used
- An event/activity, or to move about/exercise - 参加活动 (cānjiā huódòng) take part in an activity; 出去活动一下 (chūqù huódòng yíxià) go move around a bit.
- As a noun it's an organized event; as a verb it's moving/being physically active. Contrast 运动 (yùndòng, sports/exercise specifically).
- Also 'to loosen up' a stiff body: 活动活动筋骨 (huódòng huódòng jīngǔ) stretch the limbs.
