How it is used
- Two everyday jobs. As reassurance: 没事 (méishì) 'it's nothing / no worries', also the standard reply to 对不起 (sorry).
- Literally 'have no matter', so it also means 'to be free / have nothing to do': 我今天没事 (wǒ jīntiān méishì) I'm free today.
