How it is used
- A fashion/photo model - 时装模特儿 (shízhuāng mótèr) a fashion model, 当模特儿 (dāng mótèr) work as a model.
- A loanword (from 'model'); often written 模特 without the 儿. Note the 模 reads mó.
- Refers to a person who models; contrast 模型 (móxíng, a physical/abstract model object).
