- To sum up / generalize into a compact statement - 用一句话概括 (yòng yí jù huà gàikuò) sum it up in one sentence.
- Contrast 总结 (zǒngjié): 总结 is to review and draw lessons/conclusions after the fact (often a written summary); 概括 is to distill the gist/essence, boiling many points into a general one.
