How it is used
- The stairs as a structure - 走楼梯 (zǒu lóutī) take the stairs, contrasted with 坐电梯 (zuò diàntī) take the elevator.
- Note 梯 also builds 电梯 (diàntī) elevator and 楼 builds 楼上/楼下 (lóushàng/lóuxià) upstairs/downstairs - 楼梯 is specifically the step structure between floors.
