How it is used
- Two senses: a condition/prerequisite - 符合条件 (fúhé tiáojiàn) meet the requirements; and circumstances/means - 生活条件 (shēnghuó tiáojiàn) living conditions.
- 有条件 / 没条件 (yǒu/méi tiáojiàn) = to have / lack the means or the necessary conditions.
- Contrast 情况 (qíngkuàng) 'situation' (a state of affairs) - 条件 is the terms or resources that make something possible.
Example sentences
- 工资很低，其它条件还行。 Gōngzī hěn dī, qítā tiáojiàn hái xíng.The wages are low but the other conditions of employment are acceptable.
