How it is used
- Of trains/planes: delayed, behind schedule - 火车晚点了半小时 (huǒchē wǎndiǎn le bàn xiǎoshí) the train is half an hour late.
- Contrast 迟到 (chídào), which is a person arriving late; 晚点 is for transport running behind schedule.
- Parsing trap: 晚点 can also be read 晚(一)点 'a bit later' (晚点再说 talk later) - same characters, different sense from context.
