How it is used
- Two senses. Clear/bright: 天空明朗 (tiānkōng mínglǎng) a bright clear sky. Clear-cut / no longer uncertain: 形势逐渐明朗 (xíngshì zhújiàn mínglǎng) the situation is becoming clear.
- Also of temperament: open and cheerful (性格明朗). The 'situation becoming clear' sense is very common in news.
