How to remember 无非: 无 have not + 非 not = only.

How it is used
- 'Nothing more than / it's simply' - downplays something as no big deal: 他无非是想引起注意 (tā wúfēi shì xiǎng yǐnqǐ zhùyì) he just wants attention, that's all.
- Often 无非是/无非就是. Dismissive: the matter amounts to nothing beyond X. Contrast 只是 (zhǐshì), which is plainer.
