- To tidy up / put in order / pack - 收拾房间 (shōushi fángjiān) tidy the room; 收拾行李 (shōushi xíngli) pack luggage.
- Neutral tone shi. Also colloquial 'to deal with / teach a lesson': 我来收拾他 (wǒ lái shōushi tā) I'll sort him out.
- Contrast 整理 (zhěnglǐ, to arrange/organize, more neutral): 收拾 is more everyday and can carry the punitive sense.
