How to remember 撒谎: 撒 to disperse + 谎 to lie = to tell lies.

How it is used
- To tell lies - 他从来不撒谎 (tā cónglái bù sāhuǎng) he never lies.
- Note the reading 撒 sā (not sǎ). It's a verb-object phrase, so you split it: 撒了个谎 (sā le ge huǎng) told a lie. Colloquial; compare 说谎 (shuōhuǎng).
