How it is used
- To donate for a cause, giving something up - 捐献器官 (juānxiàn qìguān) donate one's organs; 捐献财物 (juānxiàn cáiwù) donate money and goods.
- Close to 捐赠 (juānzèng, slightly more formal/legal). Both differ from 贡献 (gòngxiàn), which is contributing effort or value, not handing over property.
