How it is used
- "or" in statements - 咖啡或者茶都可以 (kāfēi huòzhě chá dōu kěyǐ) coffee or tea, either is fine.
- Trap: in a choice question (A or B?) use 还是 (háishi), not 或者 - 你喝咖啡还是茶？ do you want coffee or tea?
- Can also mean "maybe/perhaps" (或者他忘了).
