How it is used
- An achievement/accomplishment (noun), or to bring about (verb) - 取得巨大成就 (qǔdé jùdà chéngjiù) achieve great things.
- The proud, weighty result of effort, bigger than 成绩 (chéngjì, results/grades, e.g. test scores). 成就感 (chéngjiùgǎn) = sense of accomplishment.
- Verb use is more literary: 时势成就英雄 the times make the hero.
