How to remember 年轻: 年 year + 轻 light = young.

How it is used
- "Young" of a person's age - 他很年轻 (tā hěn niánqīng) he's young, 年轻人 (niánqīngrén) young people.
- Use only for people; a new/young object or thing isn't 年轻. For "small in age" of a child use 小 (xiǎo).
- 轻 (light) here contributes the "few years, light on years" image; opposite is 老 (lǎo) - 老人 (lǎorén) an old person.
