How it is used
- To intervene/meddle in something that is arguably not your business - 别干预我的私事 (bié gānyù wǒ de sīshì) don't meddle in my private affairs.
- Usually carries a slightly negative or at least assertive tone; 政府干预市场 (zhèngfǔ gānyù shìchǎng) government intervention in the market.
- Contrast 干涉 (gānshè), which is stronger and more clearly unwelcome interference (esp. 干涉内政, interfering in internal affairs). Read gān, not gàn.
