How it is used
- The overall situation / state of affairs - usually political, military, or economic: 局势紧张 (júshì jǐnzhāng) the situation is tense; 国际局势 (guójì júshì) the international situation.
- Big-picture, dynamic circumstances; contrast 情况 (qíngkuàng), an everyday all-purpose 'situation.'
- Pairs with 紧张, 稳定 (stable), 恶化 (deteriorate).
