How it is used
- A dormitory room - standard word for a student shared bedroom on campus: 我们寝室有四个人 (wǒmen qǐnshì yǒu sì gè rén) there are four of us in our dorm room.
- Slightly more formal than 宿舍 (sùshè); 宿舍 is the whole building/facility, 寝室 the individual room, though students use both loosely.
