How it is used
- Genius / innate talent, or a person who has it: 音乐天才 (yīnyuè tiāncái) a musical genius, 他是个天才 (tā shì ge tiāncái).
- Contrast 才华 (cáihuá), the talent as a quality one possesses/displays; 天才 stresses the inborn, exceptional level and can name the gifted person.
- Also sarcastic: 你真是个天才 (some genius you are).
