How it is used
- 'University, college' - 上大学 (shàng dàxué) go to / attend university. Measure word 所 (suǒ).
- Top of the school ladder: 小学 → 中学 → 大学. (In classical texts it also names the Confucian 'Great Learning', but that sense is rare today.)
