How it is used
- To tremble/shiver - 冻得直哆嗦 (dòng de zhí duōsuo) shivering with cold; 吓得浑身哆嗦 (xià de húnshēn duōsuo) trembling all over with fright.
- Very colloquial, northern-flavored; near 发抖 (fādǒu) but chattier. Second syllable is toneless.
