How it is used
- To reconcile / settle a dispute, often formally - 庭外和解 (tíngwài héjiě) an out-of-court settlement; 双方达成和解 (shuāngfāng dáchéng héjiě) the two sides reached a settlement.
- More formal and legal than personal 和好 (héhǎo, to make up): 和解 resolves conflicts and can be contractual.
