How it is used
- The weekend - 周末愉快 (zhōumò yúkuài) have a nice weekend, 这个周末 (zhège zhōumò) this weekend.
- 末 (mò) means "end," so 周末 = week's end; contrast 周日 (zhōurì, Sunday) - don't mix up 末 mò with 未 wèi (not yet), a common look-alike trap.
- 周 is the standard word for "week" here (= 星期); 上周末 last weekend, 下周末 next weekend.
