How it is used
- Location noun 'behind / at the back' - 他坐在我后面 (tā zuò zài wǒ hòumiàn) he sits behind me.
- Pairs with 前面 (qiánmiàn, in front); as place words both take 在 and follow the reference noun.
- Also 'later/further on' in a text or sequence: 后面还有 (hòumiàn hái yǒu) there's more further on.
