- A colloquial agreement marker: 'exactly! / that's just it! / isn't that so' - 「今天真冷」「可不是嘛！」 ('It's freezing today.' 'You said it!').
- Note it's affirming, not negating, despite the 不. Often 可不是嘛/可不是吗. Warmly endorses what the other person just said.
