How it is used
- A verb-object compound meaning to sustain an injury: 他在车祸中受伤了 (tā zài chēhuò zhōng shòushāng le) he was injured in the car accident.
- Can be intensified with a degree between the two parts: 受重伤 (shòu zhòngshāng) seriously injured, 受轻伤 (shòu qīngshāng) slightly injured.
