How it is used
- 'A wound / trauma' - both physical and, very often, psychological: 心灵创伤 (xīnlíng chuāngshāng) emotional trauma, 战争创伤 the scars of war.
- Note the reading chuāng (not chuàng). Weightier and more lasting than a plain 伤 (injury); implies deep, sometimes enduring, damage.
