How it is used

  • To come and go, or the act of entering and exiting - 出入证 (chūrù zhèng) an entry-exit pass; 禁止车辆出入 (jìnzhǐ chēliàng chūrù) no vehicle access.
  • Also means a discrepancy: 数字有出入 (shùzì yǒu chūrù) the figures don't quite match.
  • So watch context: one sense is physical movement in/out, the other is a mismatch between things that should agree.

Example sentences

  • 这里禁止出入。 Zhèli jìnzhǐ chūrù.Entry to this place is forbidden.
  • 他有权出入美国大使馆。 Tā yǒuquán chūrù měiguódàshǐguǎn.He has access to the American Embassy.
