How it is used
- Chiefly 'introverted' as a personality trait - 性格内向 (xìnggé nèixiàng) of a reserved, inward-turned temperament.
- Direct opposite of 外向 (wàixiàng, extroverted); the 内向/外向 pair is the standard introvert/extrovert axis. Also economics: 内向型经济 domestic-oriented economy - 性格外向 (xìnggé wàixiàng) outgoing by nature.
