- To be connected/related, or a connection - 两件事有关联 (liǎng jiàn shì yǒu guānlián) the two matters are linked; 相互关联 (xiānghù guānlián) mutually related.
- More abstract and analytical than 关系 (guānxi, relationship/connections): 关联 points to a logical or causal link between things, and is common in data, tech, and reasoning (关联词, 关联性).
