Characters

How it is used

  • An emphatic adverb meaning "all, without exception", placed before the verb - 他们全都来了 (tāmen quándōu lái le) they all came.
  • Reinforces 都 with 全 for extra emphasis on completeness; in casual speech plain 都 alone is far more common and usually sufficient.
  • Not used as a standalone answer or noun - it always modifies a following verb/adjective.

Example sentences

  • 您全都有。 Nín quándōu yǒu.You have everything.
  • 他们全都来了。 Tāmen quándōu lái le.They all have come.
  • 看起来全都太奇怪了。 Kànqǐlái quándōu tài qíguài le.It all seems so strange.
