- To store or stockpile physical goods, energy, or data - 储存粮食 (chǔcún liángshi) store grain; 储存数据 (chǔcún shùjù) store data.
- Distinct from 储蓄 (chǔxù, save money in a bank): 储存 is keeping things in reserve, not financial saving.
- Common in tech, logistics, and biology (e.g. the body 储存 energy).
