- 例外 = something outside the rule; from 例 (rule/precedent) + 外 (outside).
- 毫无例外 (háowú lìwài) = without exception; 例外情况 = exceptional cases.
- Can be predicate: 谁都不能例外 (shéi dōu bùnéng lìwài) no one may be an exception.
