How it is used
- Comes AFTER a number or benchmark to mean 'and above / more than' - 18岁以上 (shíbā suì yǐshàng) 18 and over; 三次以上 (sān cì yǐshàng) three times or more.
- In Chinese counting it is usually inclusive (18岁以上 normally includes 18), the mirror image of 以下.
- Also wraps up a talk or list: 以上就是我的看法 (yǐshàng jiùshì wǒ de kànfǎ) that's my view - 'the above'.
