How to remember 人次: 人 person + 次 time = person-times.

How it is used
- Person-times - a statistical unit counting visits, not distinct people - 展览接待了十万人次 (zhǎnlǎn jiēdàile shí wàn réncì) the exhibition received 100,000 visits.
- If one person visits three times, that's 3 人次 but 1 人. Standard in attendance, tourism, and traffic stats.
- Only appears in reports/statistics; you never use it to count who's in the room now (use 人 or 位).
