- To win a prize in a lottery or draw - 中奖了 (zhòngjiǎng le) I won!; 中了大奖 (zhòngle dàjiǎng) hit the jackpot.
- Note the reading: 中 is 4th tone zhòng ('to hit the mark'), not zhōng; the 中 can split - 中了奖.
- Same zhòng as in 中毒, 中暑 - 'to be struck by'.
