- To go offline (internet/apps) - 他下线了 (tā xiàxiàn le) he went offline; opposite of 上线 (shàngxiàn), 他上线了 (tā shàngxiàn le) he came online.
- Also: a product 'coming off the assembly line' 新车下线 (xīn chē xiàxiàn), and taking content down: 视频被下线 (shìpín bèi xiàxiàn) the video was pulled.
- In pyramid-scheme/MLM slang it means a 'downline' recruit beneath you.
