How it is used
- Two business senses: a product hits the market - 新手机上市 (xīn shǒujī shàngshì) the new phone goes on sale, and a company goes public - 公司上市 (gōngsī shàngshì) the company lists on the stock exchange.
- 上市公司 (shàngshì gōngsī) is the fixed term for a listed/public company.
- Also used of seasonal produce coming into season: 草莓上市了 (cǎoméi shàngshì le) strawberries are in the shops now.
