How to remember 一起: 一 one + 起 rise up = together.

How it is used
- 'Together' - goes before the verb: 我们一起去 (wǒmen yìqǐ qù) let's go together.
- For 'together WITH someone', add 跟/和: 跟朋友一起 (gēn péngyou yìqǐ) together with friends.
- Don't confuse with 一块儿 (yíkuàir), a chattier synonym, or with counting 一起 (a batch of) cases.

- 我和妻子一起吃晚饭。 Wǒ hé qīzi yìqǐ chī wǎnfàn.I had supper with my wife.
